The Rules ©

Listen up…..it is a serious pain in the butt to re-write the rules each year, so this time around I am doing it in the minimum possible time and consequently I am giving out the minimum possible info.

It’s a Cut and Paste Job..…
Tipsters….pay attention….concentrate…..try not to fall asleep.

Untipped Draw....(1 point)

Pick all the correct results in the round…bonus 5 pts.

Winning wildcard 5 pts. Losing wildcard –5 pts.

Note.......Tipsters deemed to be Woodie contenders by JLP will be allocated 5 pts for each GallupPoll not responded to....(retroactively to round.1.)

Scoring….Finals Series...

Win..( 5 pts )……Loss..( -2pts )….Tipped Draw..( 31 pts )

NOTE.............In Finals matches where extra time is played the tie at the conclusion of full time will be considered to be a Tipped Draw.

Scoring….Wildcards...

Successfully played Wildcards score 5 points per win.

Losing Wildcards will score minus five points per loss.

Wildcards…..You Have To Use Them !!!

NOTE…..All Tipsters have to play ONE wildcard on EACH team during the Home and Away rounds of the AFL comp.
(This means that during the H&A season each Tipster will play 16 Wildcards.)

There is no minimum nor maximum limitation to the number of wildcards you may use in any round…..but you must use them all during the H&A season.

Any unplayed Wildcards at the conclusion of the Home and Away series will result in disqualification.
The offending Tipster will receive no cash and no glory.
Should a disqualified Tipster finish in a prizewinning possie the cash prize will go to the nearest Tipster on the AFL2005 Ladder, the glory will remain uncollected.

Successfully played Wildcards score 5 points per win.

Losing Wildcards will score minus five points per loss.
(Note………Draws are considered to be a loss.)

How To Tip
...

At the risk of assuming that Tipsters in AFL2010 do actually have functioning grey matter between their ears I am going to make this short…..

1 ) Click on the Icon that says Tipping.

2 ) Put your username and password to good effect.

3 ) Submit and save your weekly tips.

4 ) Submit and save any wildcards you wish to play.

Note: please that you must SAVE your tips AND your Wildcard selections for your tips or Wildcard picks to be registered.

If it all looks too hard and you are unable to work out how to tip you are permitted to direct questions to the Tallyroom….( 0414 999 987).

JLP discourages questions……..

If you really do have a question…..before actually referring any queries to the Tallyroom, you are encouraged to stand in front of the nearest mirror and ask  yourself the question…Am I really worth the space I take up on this planet..??

Tipping Deadline...

Courtesy of Multivac the tipping website will be up and running again in 2010. Tips for all matches must be lodged before the first game of each round.

You must lodge all your tips BEFORE 6:00 pm on the day of the first game of each round. It is usually a Friday….but beware…..there are variations.

If the first match is a day game the tipping deadline for that round will be Midday on the day of the first game.       Absolutely no tips for the round are accepted after the deadline has passed.   If you fail to tip your default selections will be the Away teams for that round.

If you wish you can tip months ahead.
You can change your tips as many times as you want……any time up to the weekly deadline.

It is entirely your responsibility to get your tips in on time.

The Tallyroom won’t accept any bleeding heart excuses about tips being late. There are no exceptions to missing the deadline……you get the away teams.

Money and Arguments...

All entrance payments will go towards prizes for the first ??? places at the end of the Grand Final……And, as last year, towards prizes for the woodie…. and the wettie….we also hope to include some prizes for the particularly mediocre.

There may or may not be GallupPolls during the course of AFL2008.

If a situation should arise that is not covered in the AFL2008 Rules, do not worry….JLP will just make up another rule.

Moans and Groans from losing Tipsters will be dealt with by our impartial judiciary, TheSaint, Multivac and JLP, who will always rule in favour of JLP.
